There are still a couple of civil lawsuits against him for fraud and theft. Hopefully this is the first of many servings of justice. I still have very little hope of ever seeing the $12k+ I gave for a butchered S14 motor.

Justice is slow, and often wrong ... but you might get there in this case.

Oooo, criminal charges. State rarely goes for that on fraud, but putting your hands in their tax jar is one way to force it.
Gotta feel good he’s got that scarlet mark now even if you never collect. Best of luck.

I wonder if you sue him for the money owed, if he didn’t have the money, if you could somehow get the judge to agree to something else... like forced daily rectal exams for a year with a turkey baster that would then be used to baste the guy with.

Holy poop man, sorry you had to deal with that. Makes me not regret doing my own work from time to time.

If he someone slithers out from under the long arm of the law, at least he knows he’ll have a solid future at Hennessey.

Are you still trying to recover what you spent with him? If so, I wish you the best of luck.
Your story only reinforces my belief that a careful - nay, meticulous owner is better off doing his homework and then doing the work himself.
It scares me to death to leave my M3 with anyone for any reason - I couldn’t even stay in the waiting room when I did my last inspection. I had to walk around back and watch them.
Your story just makes my blood boil and makes me even more paranoid.
Am I correct that you at least finally have the car back and properly rebuilt?
And are you in Austin (since it was Patrick who drove it)?

A lawyer representing people that got screwed by him, pro-bono, was waiting for this tax trial to finish since it makes the civil cases look even more legitimate.
The engine was rebuilt by Korman in Greensboro, NC. Who know what they’re doing.
Patrick drove it when he was still in DC, I’m in VA.

I wish you luck once that case is finished. Assholes get away with so much these days...
I was hoping we could meet up and go for a hill country drive.
I was supposed to be in Charlottesville today, but our trip got postponed until later this year. I wouldn’t have the M3, though (and I doubt I could keep up with you on those fantastic roads in an Escalade full of kids. But I’d be willing to try!).
